Established in 2011, Westmount Consultancy Limited is owned and run by Stephen Orr, a qualified and highly experienced Project Management and Learning & Development professional. Stephen is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development with a Masters Level Degree in Personnel & Development, and a Diploma in the Management of Training & Development.
Stephen has over 20 years experience in all things training, ranging from training needs analysis, to course design, delivery and evaluation for formal class-room style training courses right through to providing coaching and mentoring to small groups or individuals on a one-to-one basis.
Stephen first got involved in project work in the mid-1990’s when working for a large UK Based corporate and was a key senior member of the team responsible for delivering a £40 million plus project to design, create and implement a national bespoke software system across a network of 450+ branches throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Many large and small projects later, Stephen is now an Accredited Practitioner and Trainer in the PRINCE2™ Project Management methodology and trains hundreds of people each year from both the public and private sectors. Whilst based mainly on the island of Ireland, Stephen has delivered courses in Europe and North America as well as across Northern Ireland, Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland.
Brief Career History
Having spent 24 years working with Halifax, Stephen’s career originally started in the Estate Agency industry managing a number of branches across Northern Ireland however he soon moved into a range of area and regional level roles responsible for project and change management across Northern Ireland and the North West of England. He later moved into the Financial Services side of the business where for a number of years he managed a team of Mortgage Advisers – who for those three consecutive years where the top performing team within the UK. During this time his role not only involved both Sales Management and Regulatory Compliance with the requirements of the FSA or Financial Services Authority but also colleague training, mentoring and coaching.
In his final few years before setting up Westmount Consultancy Stephen worked as Training and Risk Coach within Halifax Independent Agencies channel working with a range of 3rd party businesses who provided Halifax counter services to customers within various city and town locations across Northern Ireland as well as influencing the risk agenda across the Channel at a National level. Stephen was the first of only 3 to have been appointed to such a role within the UK.
Throughout all of these roles Stephen had a constant responsibility to implement and manage change and provide and facilitate learning and development for all of the teams with whom he worked regardless of whether they were employed by Halifax or 3rd Party Businesses.
